Conserve energy and save costs through a better understanding of how our rate tiers work.
This rate plan has two pricing levels, known as “tiers,” which are based on how much energy you use. It also includes a High Usage Surcharge when your usage exceeds four times your Baseline Allowance, also known as Tier 1.
The first and lowest-priced tier is called your Baseline Allowance. It consists of an allotment of energy based on where you live, your heating source and the season, summer or winter. Summer runs May 1 – October 31 and winter runs November 1 - April 30.
Determine Your Baseline Allowance
PLEASE NOTE: This chart represents an above average usage customer. The length of time in each tier depends on monthly energy usage.
The SmartRate Add-on is available with the Tiered Plan and Time-of-Use (TOU) Base Plan. The Add-on discounts your summer rate in exchange for a higher rate from 2 to 7 p.m., on up to 15 SmartDays, from May through October. Find out more about the SmartRate Add-on.
Time-of-Use is an alternative to the Tiered Base Plan. Pricing varies depending on when you use power during the day, week and season. This type of pricing puts you in control. View the Time-of-Use Plan.
Stay on budget and in control with our two Energy Alerts. The Bill Forecast Alert sends a notification if your bill is expected to exceed an amount you specify. High Usage Alerts will send you a notification when you’re at risk of incurring a surcharge. Prevent the surprise of a high bill by making changes before you receive your next energy statement.
